“Trump Sets Ultimatum for Zelensky on Peace Plan”

Must read

President Trump has conveyed to President Zelensky that he must approve the peace plan or face ongoing conflict with Russia in a stern response to Ukraine’s concerns. When asked for his opinion on Zelensky’s remarks regarding the proposed deal to end the war, Trump emphasized that Zelensky would need to accept the terms. Trump mentioned that Zelensky would have to make a decision at some point, referring to a previous conversation in the Oval Office where he indicated that Ukraine lacked leverage.

Trump has indicated that next Thursday would be an appropriate deadline for Zelensky to agree to the 28-point peace plan. However, Zelensky has expressed reservations, stating that accepting the plan would compromise Ukraine’s freedom, dignity, and justice. The leaked plan includes provisions such as Ukraine relinquishing parts of the eastern Donestsk region, downsizing its military forces, and committing to not join NATO.

Despite the pressure, Zelensky has vowed to present counterarguments, persuade, and propose alternative solutions. The plan reportedly involves negotiations between the United States and Russia, with terms that appear to favor Russia. It outlines reductions in Ukraine’s army size and prohibits Ukraine from joining NATO while confirming the country’s sovereignty and requiring elections within 100 days.

Furthermore, the plan includes provisions for dialogue between Russia and NATO to address security concerns, as well as an expectation that Russia will refrain from invading neighboring nations.
