“Tragic Death: Woman Killed by Car Window Asphyxiation”

Must read

An investigation through autopsy procedures has determined the cause of death of a woman who tragically lost her life in a bizarre incident involving the electric window of her car.

Bernadette Delmotte, aged 60, was discovered deceased inside her red Fiat 500 in the small village of Bissy-sur-Fley in France on June 13. Initially perplexed by the circumstances, law enforcement later uncovered that she met her demise while trying to prevent her car from rolling away due to the handbrake being left disengaged.

Local sources suggest that Bernadette extended her head through the Fiat 500’s window to access the handbrake, inadvertently activating the car’s automatic window mechanism. Subsequently, the window ascended and fatally compressed her neck.

Following an autopsy, it was determined that she succumbed to asphyxiation, with authorities ruling out any foul play. A close friend named Béatrice informed France 3, stating, “It appears that the handbrake was not engaged. The car started to move backward. To halt its motion, Bernadette leaned through the open window to impede it further. Unfortunately, her hand inadvertently triggered the window control, resulting in the window halting on her neck.”

Family and friends of Bernadette first grew concerned when she failed to show up for a meal on the day of the tragic incident. Initially fearing a potential assault by an intruder attempting to steal her vehicle, they later learned the true nature of her horrific passing.

François, her brother, reportedly reached out to Fiat to elucidate his sister’s demise. Expressing his devastation to local media, he stated, “I am not seeking compensation, as it cannot bring back my sister. My aim is to raise awareness to prevent similar tragedies in the future.”

In a similar incident in 2021, a woman in Ukraine met a tragic fate when her neck became trapped in the window of her stationary BMW car. Celebrating her 21st birthday, the mother-of-two was leaning towards her daughter through the partially open window when the child inadvertently activated the automatic window control, leading to a fatal outcome.
