Tourists walk up famous UK mountain – but are floored by what they find

Must read

There’s nothing quite like a mountain trek, particularly in the stunning landscapes of Wales.

After all, the country is blessed with beautiful walking trails, breathtaking views and pure natural beauty. However, a group of tourists were recently left gobsmacked by their recent discovery at Snowdonia National Park.

It appears that a hidden gem awaits those who venture into the hills, and it was recently uncovered. A video shared on TikTok by ukhiddengems revealed an infinity pool nestled amidst the Welsh countryside.

The footage shows visitors enjoying a swim surrounded by the scenic beauty of Wales, taking their adventure to another level. The idyllic setting and stunning views have captivated viewers since the video was shared.

Despite some questioning the feasibility of a January swim, the “secret pool” has become a popular spot for Instagram-worthy snaps. But this isn’t a secret to locals.

The “infinity pool” of Snowdonia was actually constructed by Nant Peris farmer Wyn Mostyn Jones in 2016 as part of a £400,000 green energy project. In others words, it was never intended to be a tourist attraction.

Since he built the pool, the landowner has been taken aback by the sheer number of people drawn to his private stretch above the Llanberis Pass in Gwynedd. After people started to find out about it, thousands have been seeking out the secluded beauty spot.

But the Jones family have been working land in the area since the 1940s, so they know a thing or two about the landscape. Now they just get to share it with many more visitors thanks to the enticing pool.

Speaking previously to North Wales Live, Mr Jones said: “Although I wasn’t expecting this response, I can understand why so many flock here. It has fantastic views here – it’s so peaceful and tranquil, and understandably, a beautiful place to enjoy.”
