“Topshop and Topman Set for Retail Comeback with John Lewis Collaboration”

Must read

Topshop and Topman are preparing for a significant comeback to the retail scene in the upcoming year through a new collaboration with John Lewis. Starting in February 2026, Topshop items will be available at 32 John Lewis outlets across the United Kingdom, while Topman products will debut in six locations.

Following its acquisition by ASOS for £330 million and the closure of all its physical stores in 2021 due to the collapse of Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia Group, Topshop has been exclusively accessible through the ASOS website. However, the brand has expressed its intention to make a permanent return to brick-and-mortar retail, as evidenced by a successful pop-up event at Defected Records in east London and the recent relaunch of its standalone website.

Peter Ruis, the managing director of John Lewis, expressed optimism about the partnership, anticipating high customer demand and foot traffic. Michelle Wilson, Topshop’s managing director, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the enthusiasm among customers for the brand’s return to physical stores.

In a related development, Ikea acquired the former Topshop store on Oxford Street last month. The Grade II listed building at 214 Oxford Street was purchased by Ingka Investment, Ikea’s investment arm, after Arcadia’s insolvency. Despite initial plans to open the location by autumn 2023, renovation delays, including basement water leaks, prolonged the process.

The revamped three-story retail space offers approximately 6,000 products, with 3,500 items available for immediate purchase and the remainder accessible through home delivery, click and collect, or off-site collection options.
