Toddler miraculously survives fall down elevator shaft

Must read

A toddler fell down an elevator shaft in Voronezh, Russia, after accidentally pushing through a door while his parents looked on in horror. The father quickly jumped in after the child, fearing the elevator might descend from above. Luckily, the boy avoided metal spikes at the bottom of the shaft as he fell 6 feet.

The mother used a torch to help locate the child, while heroic neighbors on the third floor prevented the elevator from moving further down, saving the pair from being crushed. The father, Alexey, managed to retrieve the boy through the damaged door and safely climb out with him, as the mother held the child close.

Fortunately, the toddler only suffered minor bruises on his head and back, and after a hospital visit, he is now back home and feeling calmer. The father expressed gratitude to the neighbors for their quick intervention, stating that the situation was terrifying but ended miraculously.

Following the incident, the Russian Investigative Committee initiated a criminal investigation into the faulty elevator. Alexey criticized the building’s new lifts, claiming they have been unreliable and unsafe since their installation a year ago. He emphasized the need for proper functioning and safe operation of elevator systems in modern buildings.
