Tennis legend Bjorn Borg has revealed his battle with prostate cancer in his upcoming autobiography, as reported in Sweden and Italy. The book, titled “Heartbeat,” co-authored with his wife Patricia, is set to be released on September 18 in multiple countries including the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Latin America, the Netherlands, Italy, and Sweden.

Despite the book’s highly anticipated release, Borg has maintained strict confidentiality around it. The Swedish publication Expressen noted that the book will not be sent out for media reviews before its launch, with Borg opting to limit promotional interviews.

The news of Borg’s cancer became public following the early release of the book in Italy on various online platforms. Borg, renowned for his dominance in tennis during the 1970s with five Wimbledon titles and six French Open victories, is celebrated for his stylish gameplay that attracted a new wave of fans to the sport during the rise of color television.

Gunilla Bergmark from Norstedts, the book’s publisher, expressed the significance of sharing Borg’s story, emphasizing the long-awaited anticipation for the autobiography. She praised Patricia as the ideal person to narrate Borg’s journey.
