A woman who fled her home as a teenager has recently become engaged to a police officer who was involved in the search for her over a decade ago but had never met her in person until they became colleagues. Roshin Ali left her home in Jackson, Tennessee, at 13 due to fears for her safety, prompting officers like Tyler Schrupp, then 26, to search for her.
After Roshin returned home the next day, ending the police search, Tyler never encountered her during the investigation. It wasn’t until 12 years later when Roshin joined the local sheriff’s department that they finally met.
Now 28, Roshin recalled Tyler’s initial silent admiration for her, which stemmed from his nerves at approaching her because of her beauty. They eventually connected and shared their stories, leading Tyler to realize his past involvement in searching for her after piecing together the timeline.
Their bond deepened, resulting in their engagement last August, and they now have a five-month-old son. Roshin gained social media attention in July for a viral TikTok video where she humorously referred to Tyler as the officer who searched for her. Following online criticism and accusations of grooming, Roshin shared more about her troubled past in a video series.
She recounted an incident in 2010 where her gambling-addicted father posed a threat to her and her siblings, leading them to flee and be reported missing by their father. Authorities intervened, arresting her parents and placing Roshin and her siblings in foster care for their safety.
Roshin expressed gratitude for the officers’ involvement in her past, believing it saved their lives. She hailed her fiancé as her hero and announced their upcoming wedding plans for next year.
