Tasha Ghouri has suggested the Strictly Curse destroyed her relationship with fellow Love Island contestant Andrew Le Page.
The 26-year-old reality star fell for 29-year-old Andrew during season nine of Love Island in 2023 – and last year she was a contestant on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, where she made it all the way to the final alongside professional dancer star Aljaž Škorjanec, 34. Since Strictly first started airing way back in 2004, a ‘curse’ has struck many contestants and professionals which has seen previously happy relationships crumble while performing on the BBC show – or soon after appearing on it.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Tasha and Andrew had gone their separate ways – with the news emerging just weeks after Tasha made it to the live final of the show. Now it has been hinted that the infamous Strictly Curse could have had a hand to play in Tasha and Andrew’s split.
An interview that Tasha gave following her time on Strictly – but before her split with Andrew went public – has now emerged. And in light of the news that their romance is no more, fans have been analysing Tasha’s words to uncover a link to her love split.
Tashs told The Sun of her time on Strictly: “I can’t even put into words how incredible the experience was. Like, honestly, every day, I’ve been on YouTube watching all the dances we did. Andrew’s getting sick of it.”
She continued: “He is literally like, ‘Tasha!’. I just can’t get over it because the experience was just so surreal and once it ends it just ends. And that was the hardest part, you know that was it, you’re never dancing in that ballroom again.”
Tasha’s words have been revealed just days after news of the split went public. A source previously explained: “Tasha was madly in love with Andrew but the cracks started to show when she appeared on Strictly.
“She gave her all in that competition. Her focus was purely on her dances with Aljaz and that drove a wedge between them as time went by.”
The source continued: “Now she’s going off on tour she’s going to be away from Andrew again. They talked about ending their relationship at the start of January and she’s heading out on the Strictly tour as a single woman.”
While a further insider close to the couple told the publication the pair had “hit a rocky patch” and broken up. The Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour is due to keep participants bust on the road until 9 February when the string of shows will climax with a final performance in London.
And last week, photos emerged of Tasha out with her Strictly dance partner – with the former Love Island star looking tense while she took a phone call. She appeared on an escalator and looked to be deep in discussion while out and about.
However, she was able to rely on Aljaž to lift her spirits – as they pair were seen soon after looking in high spirits. The duo are on the road with a range of fellow Strictly 2024 contestants as part of the UK-wide tour.
