Keir Starmer has criticized Nigel Farage for his handling of racism allegations, calling him “spineless.”
The Prime Minister has urged the Reform UK leader to address the recently surfaced racist remarks allegedly made during Farage’s school days. A former classmate claimed that Farage endorsed Hitler and mentioned Nazi gas chambers while attending Dulwich College. In response, Reform UK dismissed the accusations as part of a smear campaign against their leader.
During his trip to the G20 summit in South Africa, Starmer emphasized the importance of Farage addressing the allegations. He highlighted Farage’s failure to address racist comments made by Reform MP Sarah Pochin, stating that the party leader lacked leadership on this issue.
In a previous incident, Pochin expressed frustration over TV ads featuring Black and Asian individuals, which Farage labeled as “ugly” while defending her intentions as not racist.
Starmer reiterated the need for Farage to explain the alleged school comments and criticized his inaction towards addressing racism within his party. The Labour leader called Farage “spineless” for failing to take immediate action, contrasting it with his proactive approach in handling similar issues within his own party.
