“Starmer Condemns Attacks on Cabinet Amid Briefing War”

Must read

Keir Starmer has emphasized that any form of targeting or attacking a member of his Cabinet is entirely unacceptable, responding to recent briefings aimed at Wes Streeting.

In his initial remarks following the emergence of a heated briefing war within the government, the Prime Minister praised the Health Secretary’s performance, stating that he is effectively carrying out his duties. Streeting was compelled to deny allegations of orchestrating a coup against Starmer, leading to public speculation about the Prime Minister’s position.

During the PMQs session, Starmer commended the Health Secretary for his efforts in reducing NHS waiting lists, despite facing ridicule from the opposition benches when he reiterated the unity of his Cabinet.

Starmer also highlighted the dedication of his chief-of-staff, Morgan McSweeney, and the rest of his team to serving the country effectively.

When questioned by Tory leader Kemi Badenoch about allegations of a toxic atmosphere in Downing Street, Starmer reiterated his commitment to rebuilding the nation and condemned any attacks on his Cabinet members.

Acknowledging Streeting’s accomplishments in surpassing expectations by delivering five million additional appointments within the first year of Labour government, Starmer emphasized the Health Secretary’s achievements.

Following Streeting’s defense against leadership challenge rumors, he compared the internal strife to a reality show, emphasizing his support for the Prime Minister and denouncing the briefing as counterproductive.

In an interview with Sky News, Streeting criticized the briefings as unfounded and unhelpful, drawing parallels to a recent TV show episode. He dismissed the rumors and reiterated his full support for the Prime Minister.
