Samsung is cautioning users to review their account settings and ensure they are actively using specific services. The South Korean tech giant is in the process of cleaning up by removing inactive Samsung accounts. This action mirrors Google’s initiative, which began deleting dormant accounts in 2023.
In a communication addressed to Galaxy users, Samsung stated that it is implementing “significant changes” and inactive users of certain services risk having their accounts removed.
The message conveyed, “We appreciate your use of Samsung account.” It further explained that an inactive account policy is being enforced to safeguard user data. Any Samsung account that remains unused or unlogged into for twenty-four months will be deemed inactive and subject to deletion, with irretrievable loss of associated data upon deletion.
If users come across this notification in their inbox, it indicates prolonged inactivity on their account. To prevent permanent closure and data loss, immediate action to log in is advised.
To maintain account integrity and prevent deletion, Samsung emphasizes the necessity of engaging with the account at least once every twenty-four months. Simply logging in will ensure the safety of user data.
