“Ryanair’s CEO Boosts Rewards for Stopping Oversized Bags”

Must read

Last week, Ryanair’s CEO, Michael O’Leary, made headlines discussing oversized bags and a new initiative to reward staff who identify and prevent passengers from boarding with oversized luggage. O’Leary expressed no remorse for catching those attempting to exploit the system. The airline plans to increase incentives for gate agents who intervene to stop oversized bags from being brought on board, raising the reward from 1.50 euros to 2.50 euros per bag, effective November. Additionally, the monthly cap of 80 euros will be eliminated.

While the CEO may lack sympathy for excessive packers, many travelers understand the challenge of fitting a holiday wardrobe into a bag measuring 40 x 30 x 20cm or smaller.

One individual who excels at packing efficiently under such constraints is Michael Zervos, who recently completed a global trip visiting 195 countries in 499 days to explore the essence of happiness. Zervos shared valuable packing tips he learned during his journey, highlighting the usefulness of the Seg45 by Matador backpack with built-in packing cube structures for organization.

Zervos emphasized the importance of selecting versatile items such as ALO all-purpose shoes and Vebrum five-finger shoes, which served him well across various terrains. Despite finding essential items for his travels, Zervos admitted that certain gadgets, like an emergency door stopper and a filter water bottle, proved unnecessary and were eventually discarded.
