Must read

Russell Brand has been spotted arriving at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

The British comedian has made an appearance at the official inauguration of the President of the United States. Today, Trump will officially take the power of the United States after winning the most recent election over Democrat candidate Kamala Harris.

Today in Washington DC at the US Capitol, Russell was seen walking towards the event. Dressed in a vest and an open shirt, Russell was seen wearing sunglasses and carrying a bottle of water as he headed to the Capitol. The Mirror’s US editor was pictured with Russell as he made his way to the event.

Trump will be inaugurated today which will mark the end of Joe Biden ‘s one-term Presidency. Other former US presidents and vice presidents have been introduced to the guests inside the US Capitol, whilst senior figures from the judiciary are also present.

Whilst it may seem strange for Russell Brand to at the Capitol, he has publicly shown his support for Trump and regularly posts about politics on his social media pages to his thousands of followers.

Speaking on his podcast, Stay Free with Russell Brand last year, he said: “In a straight choice between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, if you care about democracy, if you care about freedom, I don’t know how you could do anything other than vote for Donald Trump for precisely the reasons that they claim that you can’t.”

Last year, Brand also spoke alongside RNC spokeswoman Elizabeth Pipko about Trump’s trial and conviction. He told Fox News at the time: “They act as if a vote for Donald Trump is almost like you’re directly voting for Armageddon.”

He said that any campaigning against Trump was “hysterical”, before adding: “A greater threat to democracy is this kind of technological feudalism, that tells you that it cares about you and that it’s protecting vulnerable people, all the while increasing censorship, increasing the funding of wars, increasing the division between ordinary Americans.”

He claimed the “weaponization of the legal system” was to blame for Trump’s recent court battles and slammed the “snobbery” among the presidential nominee’s opponents as he made his feelings clear.
