“Prince Andrew Faces Request to Testify on Epstein Links”

Must read

Prince Andrew has received a warning that he will likely be requested to testify about his connections to Jeffrey Epstein before a US committee with a keen interest in hearing from him. Stephen Lynch, a prominent member of the US House Oversight Committee overseeing the ‘Epstein Files’ assembled by the FBI, expressed his desire to speak to Andrew regarding his role in the matter following the release of Virginia Giuffre’s revealing posthumous memoir. Lynch stated that they intend to engage with all involved parties, emphasizing the significance of hearing from the women who have come forward against Epstein.

Although there is a possibility that Prince Andrew may be asked to provide evidence, being a UK citizen means he cannot be compelled by subpoena to appear at a hearing. Ultimately, the decision to accept the invitation and give testimony rests with him.

In light of the recent publication of Giuffre’s memoir, which reiterated her allegations of being trafficked to Prince Andrew by Epstein, renewed attention has been directed at their association. The memoir recounted three alleged encounters between Giuffre and Prince Andrew and highlighted how her legal team was motivated by his ill-fated Newsnight interview in 2019.

Following their decision to relinquish their royal titles due to ongoing distractions caused by the allegations, Buckingham Palace confirmed Prince Andrew’s agreement with his family to step back from public life. The statement emphasized his denial of the accusations against him.

As calls grow for Andrew to be formally stripped of his dukedom and potentially removed from the Royal Lodge in Windsor, revelations emerged about his nominal rent payments for the property over the past two decades. Having secured a lengthy lease in 2003 for a nominal fee, Andrew has reportedly paid minimal rent since then.
