“Pregnant Drug Carrier Toasts Bread Over Candle in Georgia Prison”

Must read

Bella Culley, a pregnant accused drug carrier, reportedly resorted to toasting bread over a candle and using communal showers while incarcerated in a prison cell in Georgia, as shared by her mother. The 19-year-old, expected to deliver in December, is facing sentencing next week for her involvement in drug smuggling in Georgia after being apprehended earlier this year with a significant amount of cannabis and hashish in her possession.

According to Bella’s mother, Lyanne Kennedy, the young Brit has been moved to a specialized “mother and baby” unit within the prison system after enduring harsh conditions in her previous cell, which included limited amenities and only one hour of outdoor time daily. The new unit offers improved living conditions, allowing Bella more freedom for activities like walking, using a communal kitchen, and having personal shower facilities.

This case has shed light on Georgia’s strict drug laws and penalties regarding drug-related offenses. Bella has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in Georgia and faces a two-year jail term. In a recent court hearing in Tbilisi, it was revealed that Bella’s parents managed to pay a significant sum to the court, which could impact the length of her sentence. Despite the substantial amount paid, Bella is not expected to be released entirely, but the payment has potentially lessened her prison sentence.

Bella has alleged that she was coerced into drug trafficking under duress, citing threats and violent intimidation by criminals. Her lawyer confirmed her guilt in smuggling drugs into Georgia from Thailand via the United Arab Emirates.
