“Popular Streaming App Freevee Shuts Down, Moves Content to Prime Video”

Must read

A popular streaming app that provided free access to a diverse range of content has officially shut down, affecting Fire TV Stick and other streaming device owners. Amazon’s Freevee platform, known for offering free content supported by ads, has ceased operation as of September 1. The platform’s content is now exclusively available on Prime Video, requiring Freevee users to transition to the Prime Video app and sign in with their Amazon account.

Existing Freevee customers have been informed that Prime Video is the new home for Freevee TV shows, movies, and Live TV. While there are no additional charges, users may encounter box sets and movies that necessitate a Prime subscription or a one-time fee. This move may entice former Freevee users to subscribe to Prime Video or opt for movie rentals.

For those with Prime Video accounts, the consolidation of content into one app streamlines the browsing experience. The Freevee app will remain accessible until August 2025. Users are encouraged to download Prime Video to continue enjoying their favorite Freevee content without a subscription.
