“Near-Death Experience After Botched Breast Surgery”

Must read

A wellness coach hailing from Tennessee in the United States faced a near-death experience following a failed breast enhancement surgery that led to her implant rupturing and causing a significant open wound.

Lo Watson, a part-time waitress, decided to undergo breast enlargement surgery as a personal treat for her 40th birthday, investing $14,500 (£10,457) in the procedure in August. The decision was prompted by her weight loss the previous year, impacting the appearance of her existing implants.

Initially aiming for a slight increase in size, Lo was surprised when the doctor significantly enlarged her breasts to a 32E cup. Despite feeling apprehensive about the size, she trusted the doctor’s judgment and was reassured that the swelling would subside over time.

Just three weeks post-surgery, Lo noticed the incision under her left breast had burst open, but her concerns were dismissed by the operating doctor. Subsequent communication with the doctor left her feeling gaslighted and dismissed, despite experiencing abnormal swelling and fluid accumulation around her breast.

After seeking a second opinion, another doctor advised immediate removal of the implants due to their incompatibility with her body frame, preventing further health risks. Lo expressed feeling deceived, emotionally distressed, and concerned about the impact on her career as a wellness coach, where her physical appearance plays a significant role.

Although dealing with the aftermath of a traumatic experience, Lo plans to undergo implant replacement surgery once her body has fully healed. She has initiated a fundraising page to help with financial support during her recovery and to pursue legal action related to the surgery ordeal.
