A person in their thirties employed in the motorsport industry has been accused of sexually assaulting a nurse who had been caring for Michael Schumacher at his residence in Gland, Switzerland. The incident reportedly occurred in 2019, but the allegations have only recently surfaced, leading to a criminal complaint being filed over two years after the alleged assault. A trial is set to commence this week.
According to the rape charges, the individual assaulted the nurse in an upstairs bedroom of Schumacher’s house post a night of heavy drinking. The encounter supposedly took place after the two encountered each other in the billiard room of the luxurious Lake Geneva mansion.
Although the accused person claimed to have shared a previous kiss with the nurse at a club in Geneva, the nurse denied any significant relationship between them. Notably, none of the Schumacher family members are implicated in the accusations, with the indictment confirming their absence during the alleged incident.
Over a decade ago, the legendary Formula One champion suffered severe head trauma in a skiing accident, necessitating constant care provided by a dedicated medical team at his residence. After spending 250 days in a medically induced coma, Schumacher now receives ongoing treatment at home, overseen by his wife, Corinna, who has been discreet about the specifics of his care but offered insights in a recent Netflix documentary.
In the documentary released in 2021, Corinna expressed the family’s continued longing for Michael and highlighted their united effort to support his recovery and ensure his comfort while maintaining his privacy, a value he always cherished. Schumacher, renowned for his achievements with Benetton and Ferrari, secured multiple world championship titles during his illustrious career.
