“Miraculous Rescue: Worker Saved From Rome Tower Collapse”

Must read

A worker was saved in a remarkable rescue operation after being trapped under debris from a historic tower in Rome. The incident took place at the Torre dei Conti during renovation work near the Colosseum. The worker was carefully lifted out by rescuers using an aerial ladder and then transported to the hospital. Officials reported that he was conscious despite the seriousness of the situation.

Multiple attempts were made to reach the trapped worker, including using ladders and a drone. The rescue operation was challenging as additional rubble kept covering the worker each time a part of his body was freed. The collapse damaged the tower’s central buttress, stairwell, and roof, according to cultural heritage officials.

Aside from the trapped worker, three other workers were rescued unharmed, while a 64-year-old worker sustained critical injuries. The tower, undergoing a restoration project worth £6 million, had passed safety assessments before the incident occurred. Italian prosecutors are investigating the incident for possible charges related to negligence.

Witnesses, including a German student, described the tense moments leading up to the collapse. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed hope for the worker’s recovery and thanked the emergency responders for their dedicated efforts.
