Kaz Crossley shared her journey of hair loss and newfound perspective on life in a heartfelt conversation on the latest episode of Love Island.
During a chat with newcomer Ron Hall, who later chose to partner with her, the ITV star reflected on her experiences over the past few years. Kaz disclosed, “After everything that’s happened to me on my journey, it’s made me who I am and made me do the things I do now, you know? Even like shaving my hair off, it’s because I had alopecia. I shaved it off for charity.”
Ron expressed his surprise and admiration, asking about the charity Kaz supported. She mentioned the Little Princess Trust, explaining, “It’s a charity that makes wigs for children going through alopecia and cancer.”
Praising Kaz’s courage, Ron complimented her new look, to which Kaz humbly responded, “Yeah, now I embrace the short hair.” The exchange highlighted Kaz’s journey to self-acceptance after previously confessing on FUBAR Radio that losing her hair made her feel uncomfortable but was willing to sacrifice her confidence to help others.
In a candid Instagram post in 2023, Kaz revealed that stress triggered her alopecia, impacting her mental health and self-perception. Despite feeling stronger now, she acknowledged the challenges of overcoming past trauma and anxiety.
Kaz’s hair loss followed a tumultuous incident in Abu Dhabi, where she was detained due to a leaked video from 2020 showing her engaging in controversial behavior in Dubai. Addressing the situation on Instagram, Kaz explained that the video was shared maliciously by an ex-partner to tarnish her reputation.
Reflecting on the ordeal with Mirror, Kaz emphasized personal growth, stating, “I really believe like everything happens for a reason, and when I went through that, obviously I made a mistake, you know your mistakes don’t define you. I’ve just grown so much from that experience.”
Her journey of resilience and self-discovery has led Kaz to a place of pride and contentment, as she prepares to showcase her true self on Love Island.
