Lewis Hamilton Vows to Improve Performance at Ferrari

Must read

Lewis Hamilton has committed to focusing and putting in hard work to improve his performance at Ferrari after previously hinting at the possibility of being let go. Hamilton, who is in the initial year of his lucrative £60 million per year deal with Ferrari, has not had a smooth start to his tenure. Currently sitting sixth in the F1 standings, he trails his teammate Charles Leclerc by 42 points and has yet to secure a podium finish in 14 races with Ferrari. Expressing his disappointment following a poor showing in qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Hamilton acknowledged his struggles saying, “It’s me every time. I’m useless, absolutely useless.”

Despite the challenging start, Hamilton is determined and motivated to turn things around. The mid-season break provided him with an opportunity to reflect on his performance, with Hamilton stating, “We’re going to work hard, keep our heads down, try to change a few things in our approach and start to enjoy ourselves.” The pressure of the season’s first half has not made it enjoyable for him, but he is focused on rediscovering his passion for the sport.

Receiving support from fellow drivers, including George Russell, who dismissed Hamilton’s self-criticism as “nonsense,” Hamilton’s peers recognize his exceptional talent and believe he will bounce back. Fernando Alonso, another veteran driver, emphasized Hamilton’s prowess and expressed confidence in his ability to regain his form, highlighting the respect Hamilton and Ferrari command in the sport.
