Lewis Hamilton shares first Ferrari photo and sends heartfelt message as new career begins

Lewis Hamilton has shown off the first picture of him at Ferrari‘s Maranello headquarters as the British drivers looks ahead to a new chapter with the iconic Italian team.

The British star bid farewell to Mercedes last year after 12 years with the team that saw him become a seven- world champion, before watching rival Max Verstappen become the dominant force of the sport after the Dutchman won the last four world titles.

Hamilton is now preparing for a new season with Ferrari alongside partner Charles Leclerc and the 40-year-old could not hold back his emotions after realising his dream of racing in their red colours.

He arrived at the Maranello factory on Monday for his first day with Ferrari and dressed for the occasion as he pictured himself wearing an pinstripe navy jacket and tie with matching overcoat.

Writing a gushing and heartfelt message on Instagram expressing his joy about finally joining Ferrari, he insisted it was a day he would always remember in his career.

“There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days.

“I’ve been lucky enough to have achieved things in my career I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realise that dream today.

“Today we start a new era in the history of this iconic team, and I can’t wait to see what story we will write together.”

Hamilton is set to test-drive a Ferrari car for the first time later this week at their Fiorano circuit ahead of the season opener at the Australian Grand Prix in March.

Hamilton, who has won a record 105 races and is level with Michael Schumacher for most championships won, is hoping to help Ferrari win their first title since 2008.

He will be officially unveiled by Ferrari at their 2025 season launch on February 18, rather than at an immediate press conference.
