Kemi Badenoch Belts Out Sweet Caroline at Tory Conference

Must read

Kemi Badenoch was captured on video singing Sweet Caroline alongside Tory supporters while displaying a positive attitude during the party’s disappointing conference.

The Conservative leader acknowledged on Tuesday morning that her voice was strained from socializing with loyal Tory members. A video clip shows her energetically waving a Union Jack flag in a bar as younger conference attendees relaxed and enjoyed themselves.

Questions arose about the numerous vacant seats at the high-profile event in Manchester. Shadow Chancellor Sir Mel Stride’s keynote speech on Monday failed to fill the 1,000-seat hall, a notable departure from previous years.

However, during an interview on BBC Breakfast, Ms. Badenoch expressed satisfaction with the conference’s progress. She mentioned receiving complaints about long entry queues, attributing her hoarse voice to a lively gathering at a packed Young Conservatives event where they sang Sweet Caroline, albeit admitting it might have been excessive. She emphasized the significant turnout at the conference, noting the absence of certain groups like corporate lobbyists but highlighting the strong presence of party members.

Describing it as one of the few conferences where members truly felt ownership, she expressed pride in the event’s atmosphere. BBC host Sally Nugent commented on the potentially subdued hall ambiance but acknowledged the liveliness in the bar.

Mrs. Badenoch confirmed their presence in the bars, admitting to perhaps being overly enthusiastic late at night but praising the Young Conservatives for their vibrant and enthusiastic spirit.
