Joe Biden Begins New Prostate Cancer Treatment

Must read

Former US President Joe Biden is currently undergoing a new treatment regimen for his aggressive prostate cancer. A spokesperson for the 46th President stated that he is receiving radiation therapy and hormone treatment as part of his treatment plan, which is expected to last for five weeks, marking a new phase in his cancer treatment. Biden had already been taking hormone medication, and the addition of radiation therapy is a recent development.

In May, Biden publicly disclosed his battle with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. Despite his health challenges, reports indicate that the President is managing well. Last month, he underwent Mohs surgery for skin cancer, a procedure involving the removal of skin layers until cancer is eliminated, leaving him with a visible bandage on his forehead.

Turning 83 next month, Biden exited office as the oldest US President amid concerns about his health. In his cancer announcement in May, Biden expressed solidarity with others affected by cancer, stating, “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”

This isn’t the first time the former President faced cancer; in February 2023, a cancerous lesion was removed from his chest during a routine medical check-up, described by doctors as a common form of skin cancer.
