“Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis Exhibition Sees 50% Ticket Price Slash”

Must read

Fans are shying away from Jake Paul’s contentious bout against Gervonta Davis as ticket prices have been cut by 50%. The two are scheduled to face off in Miami on November 14 in an exhibition match. Criticism of the event has been significant, primarily due to the substantial weight difference between the fighters. Paul, who typically competes at cruiserweight (200lbs), moved up to heavyweight for his victory over Mike Tyson last November.

On the other hand, ‘Tank’ Davis usually fights in the lightweight division (135lbs). Amidst confusion regarding the regulations, it was revealed by Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions, that the exhibition will consist of 10 rounds with three-minute rounds and a maximum weight limit of 195lbs. Both fighters will wear 12-ounce gloves during the match.

Despite the specifications, fan interest in the fight appears low, with ticket prices dropping significantly less than two weeks before the event. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster, Viagogo, and StubHub. Viagogo’s cheapest tickets on October 15 were priced at £139 ($186).

The cost of tickets has seen a notable shift in pricing, with the most expensive ringside seat listed at £4,043 / $5,413. StubHub’s cheapest tickets were priced at £131 ($223), while ringside tickets were at £9,480 ($12,686). Ticketmaster’s prices on October 30 ranged from £69.58 ($91.50) for standard admission to £22,807 ($30,000) for the Diamond VIP Package.

During a press conference last month, Paul expressed his determination to secure a decisive victory in November, aiming for a knockout. Davis, on the other hand, highlighted his speed advantage and predicted a challenging fight for Paul due to the height difference.

The Paul vs. Davis showdown is set for Friday, November 14, at the Kaseya Center in Florida. Official fight times will be announced closer to the event, with the main event expected to start around 4 am UK time. The fight, like other prominent matchups, will be streamed on Netflix, included in all subscription plans ranging from £5.99 to £18.99 per month.
