Inside Ashley Cain’s love life from Safiyya’s heartbreak to mystery of 2 new babies

Must read

Ashley Cain recently became a dad for the third time as he welcomed his son, Atlas, into the world – but the mother’s identity remains a mystery.

In November, the 34 year old revealed he had welcomed a second son, three years after the tragic death of his daughter Azaylia. Azaylia tragically passed away in April 2021 following a devastating battle with leukaemia.

The former Ex On The Beach star announced the arrival of Atlas Diamond Cain, less than a year after the birth of his baby boy Aliyas, on Instagram. Along with adorable pictures of the newborn, Ashley penned: “Welcome to the world, my son! When you rearrange your final two filming dates three times to make sure you’re back for your son’s birth, fully expecting him to be just like you – LATE. He surprises everyone by showing up a month early!”

Ashley expressed his disappointment for not being able to be at his son’s birth, as he continued: “Even though I’m absolutely gutted I couldn’t be there, my heart is bursting with love and excitement. I can’t wait to leave the danger zones behind and come home to the best welcome ever – hugs, kisses, and sleepy snuggles on the sofa with my beautiful baby boy.”

In January this year, Ashley, announced that he had welcomed a son two years after the tragic death of his daughter Azaylia. At the time, Ashley announced that he was expecting his son with an old friend after he split from his ex-partner Safiyya Vorajee.

It is understood that he is currently single, according to The Sun. His last long term relationship was with Azaylia’s mother, Safiyya. Ashley has never revealed the identity of Aliyas’ mother and it’s unclear if his youngest child has the same mum. When his first son was born, he confirmed that he was not in a relationship with his mother, but said that she was a “close friend”.

“I got a call from a girl I was seeing who I have known since I was 18,” he told The Sun. “We are friends and have met up on and off over the years. She is a really nice person and good to be around. I got a message saying that she needed to speak to me so I went to see her and she told me she was pregnant — I can’t put into words how that felt.”

Ashley was in a relationship with dental nurse Safiyya from around 2018 until 2022. The couple tragically lost their eight month old daughter Azaylia following an arduous battle with leukaemia in April 2021. The grieving parents have fought tirelessly to help other families and children fighting cancer with The Azaylia Foundation, which captures Azaylia’s spirit with the “little lion” logo.

Ashley and Safiyya announced their split in March 2022 where Ashley said it “was an incredibly tough decision”. He wrote on Instagram: “After a devastating and heartbreaking year, Safiyya and I decided to separate a few months ago. This was an incredibly though decision which we needed to keep to ourselves for some time to give us the opportunity to figure out our own journey privately.

“The past few months have demonstrated that we remain the closest of friends, spending time together everyday, and that we will love, care and support each other forever.” He added: “We are bonded by our powerful journey together, by the eternal love we have for our daughter, and our passionate commitment to her foundation,” followed by an orange heart emoji.

Ashley said it was “painful” for his ex to hear about his new baby news following Azaylia’s tragic death. He said: “It was painful for Safiyya but it was also painful for me as well to talk to her.”

He continued: “We haven’t been together for a while now and it is inevitable that at some stage people are going to move on with their lives — that doesn’t mean that we can’t be friends and have an amazing relationship.

“I know Safiyya will always support me and I will always be there to support Safiyya. It wasn’t an easy conversation or filled with smiles but it was a conversation that had a lot of truth and respect.”
