An arrest has been made in connection with an influencer who allegedly directed a gang to carry out acts of torture against two individuals believed to have burglarized her residence. Izabela Paiva, aged 26, was apprehended as part of a police operation aimed at combating organized crime. The incident occurred in Porto Velho, situated deep within the Amazon region of Brazil, while Paiva was away from home.
Instead of contacting law enforcement, it is alleged that Paiva instructed members of the Comando Vermelho gang to take action against the intruders, retrieve her stolen belongings, and administer punishment. The Rondônia State Civil Police criticized Paiva for choosing personal vengeance over lawful recourse in handling the situation.
Law enforcement authorities suspect that Paiva not only maintains close connections with Comando Vermelho but may also be an active member of the criminal organization. The influencer, known for showcasing a lavish lifestyle on social media to over 100,000 followers, has been linked to the notorious Comando Vermelho, a prominent criminal group with a history of illicit activities including drug trafficking and arms smuggling.
The operation to apprehend Paiva was named “Arur Betach,” a Hebrew phrase signifying mistrust, which she reportedly shared on social media shortly after the burglary incident. This development follows an investigation initiated by authorities in response to the tragic deaths of another influencer and her teenage daughter in Rio de Janeiro. Lidiane Aline Lorenco, 33, and her 15-year-old daughter, Miana Sophya Santos, were discovered deceased in their apartment after concerned neighbors reported a foul smell emanating from the premises.
Emergency responders found Lidiane and Miana in separate rooms within the apartment, both having succumbed to their demise prior to the discovery.
