Lewis Hamilton has sadly announced the passing of his beloved bulldog Roscoe. The seven-time Formula 1 champion had been by Roscoe’s side since Wednesday when he urgently took him to a veterinary clinic after a concerning decline in his health.
The situation worsened on Friday when Hamilton revealed that Roscoe had slipped into a coma, expressing his concerns about his recovery. Hamilton shared on social media that Roscoe had developed pneumonia again and was struggling to breathe, leading to his hospitalization and sedation. Despite efforts to revive him after his heart stopped, Roscoe remained in a coma with an uncertain outcome.
Tragically, Hamilton later confirmed Roscoe’s death, acknowledging the support and love shown to his furry companion over the years. Hamilton had welcomed Roscoe into his life in 2013, and the loyal bulldog had accompanied him to various F1 events, including races at Silverstone and across Europe.
Roscoe’s most recent public appearance was at the British Grand Prix in July, where he joined Hamilton on stage as a Ferrari driver. Despite overcoming pneumonia earlier in the year, Roscoe had to miss the Italian Grand Prix, which Hamilton had hoped he could attend.
Roscoe had gained significant popularity with his own Instagram page boasting 1.3 million followers, who expressed their condolences following the news of his passing. Hamilton, who was set to travel to Italy for a tire test, chose to stay with Roscoe, leading to his replacement by reserve driver Zhou Guanyu for the event.
