“Former Fox 2 News Anchor Charged with Mother’s Murder”

Must read

A television news journalist is facing charges of first-degree murder after her elderly mother was fatally stabbed. Angelynn ‘Angie’ Mock, a former morning news anchor for Fox 2 News in St. Louis, Missouri, was found by authorities outside her home covered in blood on the morning of Friday, October 31. Her mother, Anita Avers, a well-known marriage and family therapist, was discovered with multiple stab wounds in her bed and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Mock, 47, who had cuts on her hands, was also treated for injuries before being taken into custody. The journalist, who previously worked at Fox 2 from 2011 to 2015, is currently held on a $1 million bond at Sedgwick County Jail on a first-degree murder charge. It is unclear if she has entered a plea or obtained legal representation at this time.

A neighbor described encountering Mock seeking help, visibly distressed and covered in blood, before fleeing the scene. Dispatchers were informed that the incident was a result of a domestic dispute where the caller allegedly stabbed her mother in self-defense. Mock, who transitioned from a sports reporter to a successful news anchor before her career change in 2015, was working in sales at a software firm during her arrest.

Authorities have not disclosed further details about the incident, which is still under investigation. It is reported that Mock had a successful media career before her current predicament.
