Embark on a nostalgic journey through two legendary music decades on the upcoming ‘Electric Sunsets 80s vs 90s’ themed cruise, leaving the kids at home.
Marella Cruises, the ocean cruise line operated by TUI UK, has confirmed the much-anticipated return of its music-themed cruise experience in April 2027. This adults-only voyage offers a unique blend of retro music rivalry at sea and is now open for bookings.
In its sixth installment, the Electric Sunsets event pays homage to the influential 80s and 90s pop culture eras, immersing guests in a nostalgic atmosphere filled with entertainment and star-studded performances. The lineup for the 2027 cruise will be unveiled early next year, featuring top artists from both decades.
Although the upcoming cruise will introduce new acts, last year’s edition showcased renowned performers such as B*Witched, The Honeyz, DJ SASH!, and Ibiza in Symphony, a 10-piece orchestra.
Set to sail on Marella Discovery for three nights, the cruise will depart from Palma on Wednesday, April 28, 2027, making stops at Valencia and Ibiza before returning to Palma on Saturday, May 1, 2027. Guests can anticipate themed parties, live shows, and 80s vs 90s-inspired events throughout the ship.
Marella Cruises CEO, Chris Hackney, expressed excitement about the 2027 themed cruise, emphasizing the enduring appeal of the 80s vs 90s music battle to both existing and new guests. Hackney noted that feedback indicates a strong sense of nostalgia associated with these eras, enhanced by the opportunity to witness top artists’ performances onboard.
For those seeking an extended vacation, limited cruise-and-stay packages will be offered, including accommodations in Majorca at Alua Soul Mallorca Resort, Astoria Playa Hotel, and Hotel Son Matias Beach.
The Electric Sunsets 80s vs 90s package, starting at £799 per person, is all-inclusive as with all Marella Cruises trips, covering flights, transfers, tips, and service charges. Reservations for the cruise open on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
Cruise enthusiasts fascinated by new destinations and ports will find interest beyond the cruise ship and itinerary. Discovering various ports worldwide is a highlight for many cruise aficionados.
