Eamonn Holmes made a sudden interruption on GB News during Monday’s broadcast. The 65-year-old former This Morning star was hosting alongside Ellie Costello when he had to pause and intervene during the live show.
Addressing viewers with a crucial political update, Holmes stated, “I need to interrupt, Ellie. Can you hear that applause? Live footage shows Red Cross vehicles navigating through busy streets in Gaza.” He further added, “There is no confirmation on the occupants of these vehicles or their destination. Earlier, it was confirmed that the first seven hostages were transferred to the Red Cross in Gaza and are now en route to Israel.”
Ellie Costello informed the audience that the hostages would first be received at a military base, reunited with their families. She pointed out the helicopters waiting at the Southern Israel military base for their arrival.
Returning to GB News after an absence, Eamonn Holmes recently updated his followers about his health status. Despite a recent eye injury, Holmes downplayed the severity, humorously mentioning, “You should see the other guy,” while sharing photos of his bandaged eye.
The veteran TV host has been grappling with health issues affecting his mobility, following spinal surgery in 2022 due to three slipped discs causing chronic back pain. Eamonn’s deteriorating health has taken an emotional toll on him, as he shared a throwback photo expressing sadness over his declining mobility.
In a candid revelation in 2022, Eamonn disclosed that his health struggles had impacted his marriage to Loose Women star Ruth Langsford, leading to their separation after a long union.
