An elderly woman is in critical condition following a brutal attack by her seven Rottweilers. The 77-year-old was swiftly taken to a hospital after the pack of uncontrollable dogs assaulted her in Gravatai, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on Saturday. This incident occurred just a day after a 70-year-old man lost his life when four pit bulls attacked him in Minas do Leao, also in Rio Grande do Sul.
The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, sustained severe injuries to her nose, ear, and multiple lower limbs. Additionally, part of her scalp was torn off during the assault. It has been reported that all the dogs involved belonged to her and were subsequently retrieved by the Municipal Guard.
Dr. Renato Fetter, the attending physician, remarked that the patient was fortunate to survive the ordeal. He detailed her injuries, stating that she suffered the loss of the tip of her nose, a nasal fracture, complete destruction of her ear, and mutilation of her lower limbs.
In a separate incident, market trader Paulo Roberto de Carvalho, aged 63, tragically passed away in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense, after being attacked by two pit bulls a week earlier. His grieving family paid tribute to him as a hard-working family man after his untimely death.
Earlier in the same month, a newborn baby met a tragic fate when the family’s dog suddenly turned aggressive. One-week-old baby Jason Anthony Weaver, born on August 28, was fatally attacked by their five-year-old husky-pit bull mix on September 7, succumbing to blunt-force trauma injuries as confirmed by the Huntington County Coroner’s Office.
Efforts were made by medical personnel to save the infant’s life at their residence in northeastern Indiana, US. Despite being rushed to the hospital in critical condition, the baby could not be saved. Following the incident, the dog was captured and placed under quarantine. Authorities ruled the death of little Jason as accidental, while the grieving parents struggled to come to terms with the tragic event.
The family published an online obituary to honor their child, describing Jason Anthony (Weaver) Kinsey, aged 7 days, of Markle, who passed away on Thursday evening, September 4, 2025. The obituary shared that Jason enjoyed listening to Rock ‘n’ Roll and country music, and had a fondness for the song “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”
Tragedy struck again less than a month later when a five-month-old boy was fatally attacked by a dog after his mother left him in the care of relatives on her birthday in Florida. Sheriff Mike Chitwood of the Volusia County Sheriff’s Department expressed deep sadness over the heart-wrenching case.
The sequence of events unfolded when the great-grandmother found the 130lb Great Dane and husky mix sitting beside the lifeless child covered in blood. Upon the parents’ return to the scene, they rushed the child to Advent Hospital in Daytona Beach, where despite medical efforts, he was declared deceased.
Speaking at a press conference, Sheriff Chitwood expressed the deep tragedy of the situation, emphasizing the immense sorrow felt by the family members. He underscored the emotional impact on the young mother who returned home on her birthday only to find her child had passed away, leaving everyone involved in profound grief.
