Couple wait three days to try viral sandwich then give brutally honest verdict

Must read

For years, Amsterdam-based sandwich shop Chun has been all the rage as people spend hours in line to have a bite of one of their sandwiches.

So when Dr Eman Butt and her partner Owais Ahmed went to Amsterdam for a holiday, Eman was set on going to try a sandwich herself to see if it lived up to the hype. However getting the sandwich wasn’t as easy as she expected.

In one video posted to TikTok, she admitted they tried to get a hold of a sandwich for three days in a row, but they gave up because the queue was taking too long. After arriving on the third day, the couple were told to expect a 45 minute wait in the queue.

Despite being disappointed about having to wait that long outside in the cold, they braved it and started standing in the long queue. Owais decided to make the wait more bearable by getting some hot chocolates to keep them warm.

Eman soon made an update: “Been in this queue for half an hour. I’m not gonna lie, I’m nowhere near the front. Sandwich best be good.” She wrote in the caption: “Shoutout to Owais Ahmed for waiting with me even though he doesn’t like sandwiches.”

After finally getting inside, the pair were seated at a table as they waited for their hyped-up sandwich to be made.

Eman went for a garlic shrimp sandwich, which came neatly packaged in a cardboard box with paper on top covering it. As she opened it, she showed off the generously shrimp-filled sandwich with an omelette that had been covered in a white sauce.

“Let’s see if it’s worth it,” she said as she took the first bite of her sandwich. And when she chewed it for a moment, she declared: “It’s good.” However, when Owais asked if it was worth the three day long wait, she brutally replied “no.”

She told the camera: “You’re all lying, I’m sorry. I’d probably give it like an 8 out of 10. You know the amount of time I had to wait on this sandwich I feel like I’m obliged to like it. Very good marketing, I’ve got to say.”

As she continued to eat her sandwich, she still said she was happy to have gone through the effort to try it. After finishing it, she said she would gladly wait half an hour to eat the sandwich, but not on a regular basis.

Despite her honest review saying the sandwich was nice, people quickly took to the comments to say she ordered the wrong thing.

One person said: “You did not get the bulgogi one. That is the only on you should wait for” with another one saying: “You didn’t even try the viral beef one.” Eman replied: “I just had hotel breakfast I would not have stomached it.”
