Campbell Hatton recently shared his thoughts on the profound influence of his late father, Ricky, and a preliminary cause of death has been confirmed. During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, 24-year-old Campbell reflected on the past few hectic weeks, particularly leading up to his father’s funeral. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support shown by thousands of individuals who gathered in the streets to honor Ricky’s memory.
Recalling his father’s perspective, Campbell mentioned how Ricky valued his loyal fanbase more than his boxing achievements. The immense love and admiration for Ricky were evident as people from around the world followed him in his boxing journey. The emotional funeral procession through the streets of Manchester, lined with crowds, left a lasting impact on Campbell and his family.
Ricky’s final farewell took place on October 12 at Manchester Cathedral, with a procession passing through significant locations in the city. Following a private memorial service, a gathering was held at the Etihad Stadium. Although Ricky’s passing was deemed non-suspicious, an inquest led by Senior Coroner Alison Mutch was initiated on October 16.
The initial findings from the investigation revealed that Ricky was discovered ‘unresponsive’ at his residence. The provisional cause of death was determined to be hanging, with a full inquest scheduled for March 20, 2026. Paul Speak, who found Ricky at home, emphasized the importance of uncovering the truth behind the tragic event to dispel any speculation.
