Boy found dead at Cornwall home in horror early morning discovery

Police have launched an investigation after officers discovered a boy dead at a Cornwall home this morning.

Devon and Cornwall Police said in a statement this afternoon that police rushed to a property at Thornpark Road, in St Austell, following concern for the welfare of a boy. Officers raced to the scene alongside South Western Ambulance Service early this morning, at around 7.55am, to find the boy unresponsive at an undisclosed address.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Cornwall Live he was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts from emergency staff, and police have since announced plans to launch an investigation. The statement added that the boy’s death is not currently believed to be suspicious.

They said: “Police were contacted by the ambulance service at 7.55am today, 15 January, following concern for the welfare of a child in St Austell. The boy was found unresponsive at an address in Thornpark Road. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the boy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death which is not currently believed to be suspicious.”
