Ricky Hatton, the renowned boxer from Manchester, was captured in a joyful moment with his daughters and granddaughter shortly before his untimely passing. The 46-year-old athlete was found deceased at his home in Gee Cross, Hyde this morning, according to Greater Manchester Police, who have confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
Known as Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton, he has left a deep sense of sorrow within the boxing community and behind him, he leaves his three children – Campbell, aged 24, Millie, aged 13, and Fearne, aged 12, along with his seven-year-old granddaughter Lyla.
Ricky became a father at the age of 22 when his son Campbell was born in 2001 to his former partner Claire. Subsequently, he welcomed daughters Millie and Fearne during his relationship with former fiancée Jennifer Dooley.
In 2018, Ricky’s granddaughter Lyla, the daughter of Campbell, came into the world. Just a little over two weeks ago, a touching picture of Ricky with Lyla to mark her 7th birthday was shared.
The image showed Ricky with Lyla on his lap, sharing a heartwarming moment. He expressed his love for his granddaughter in the caption, wishing her a happy birthday.
Recently, Ricky also shared a photo with his daughters Millie and Fearne during a trip to Tenerife, captioning it with a note about a lovely family dinner.
Apart from his children and granddaughter, Ricky also had a significant reconciliation with his parents after a ten-year estrangement that began over financial disagreements. Reflecting on the past, Ricky acknowledged the importance of repairing relationships before it’s too late, citing the passing of his friends’ parents as a wake-up call.
