Bernie Ecclestone Sells Yacht Named After Daughters

Must read

Bernie Ecclestone recently parted ways with a yacht named after his daughters, Petra and Tamara, following his wife Fabiana’s revelation that they only utilized it for about eight days annually. Additionally, another smaller yacht owned by the Formula 1 mogul, located in Ibiza, is now also on the market.

During an interview on his 95th birthday, Ecclestone disclosed, “We just sold it,” in reference to the yacht sale, as confirmed by Fabiana, who stated, “We only used it for eight days a year. We don’t require such a large yacht for such limited use.”

Earlier this year, Ecclestone also sold his collection of F1 cars to Red Bull co-owner Mark Mateschitz for approximately £550 million. This transaction came after settling a civil case with HMRC by paying over £500 million due to undisclosed overseas assets worth £400 million.

Despite these financial moves, Ecclestone and his family still boast a net worth exceeding £1.8 billion, according to Forbes. Alongside his third wife, Fabiana, and their five-year-old son, Ace, Ecclestone resides in Gstaad, Switzerland.

Regarding his birthday celebration, Ecclestone mentioned, “My daughters wanted a big party. I’d prefer to travel with Fabi and Ace to my ranch in Brazil.”

Ecclestone also shared that his eldest daughter, Deborah, visited him in Gstaad before his birthday, marking her 70th birthday. Fabiana reflected on their 13-year marriage, stating, “We’ve been married for 13 years now, together for 16,” and highlighted their successful co-parenting of Ace.

Ecclestone emphasized their teamwork in raising Ace, mentioning his approach to discipline, “Bernie and I are a team, and we’re raising Ace as a team. When I get a little impatient, Bernie explains to him in his usual calm and quiet way that he’s not allowed to watch TV for half an hour until he’s done his homework.”

Fabiana added insights on parenting challenges, noting, “It’s not easy for us to explain to Ace that online activities are restricted to Tuesdays while his classmates have daily access. I believe it’s best for him to receive his first cell phone at ages 12 or 14.”

Expressing pride in their son, Ecclestone stated, “Ace has accepted this and doesn’t complain. He’s a bright, intelligent, wonderful boy. I already see no limits to what he’ll be capable of.” Fabiana added, “He was already skiing at the age of two. Many children his age have preferences, but Ace enjoys all foods, with sushi being his favorite.”
