Bernie Ecclestone’s spouse has shared insights into how they manage parenting their five-year-old child, despite their significant 46-year age gap. The ex-Formula One chief, now aged 95, and his 49-year-old partner currently reside in the serene Swiss village of Gstaad.
In 2020, they welcomed their son when Ecclestone was 89, embarking on a new chapter after being married for eight years. The family divides their time between the picturesque Swiss Alps and Fabiana’s native Brazil.
Their son, Ace, is fluent in three languages: Portuguese from his mother, English from his father, and Swiss German from attending the International Preschool in Gstaad.
During a recent conversation, Fabiana discussed their parenting approach as a 95-year-old father and a 49-year-old mother. She emphasized their teamwork in raising Ace, with Bernie calmly setting rules like limited TV time after completing homework.
Fabiana mentioned the challenges of restricting Ace’s technology use compared to his peers but expressed plans for him to have his first mobile phone around the age of 12 or 14.
Ecclestone, renowned for revolutionizing F1 into a multi-billion-pound enterprise, praised Ace’s intelligence and potential, noting his son’s lack of limitations. Ace’s diverse interests include skiing, enjoying various foods, with sushi being a favorite.
In a separate interview, Ecclestone expressed his hope that Ace sees him as a supportive figure rather than just an elderly parent, acknowledging the importance of treating his bright son with respect.
The age gap between Ecclestone’s eldest child, Deborah, and Ace is significant, with Ace recently starting school. Despite his daughters’ desire for a grand celebration, Ecclestone preferred a quiet birthday in Brazil with Fabiana and Ace.
Ecclestone recently sold a yacht named after his daughters due to minimal use, with plans to sell another yacht currently in Ibiza. Sky has announced a discounted Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming season, offering substantial savings and an increased number of live matches, including over 215 Premier League games.
