Angelina Jolie’s Driver Forced into Ukraine Conflict

Must read

Angelina Jolie’s driver-bodyguard has revealed that he was compelled to participate in the conflict in Ukraine after being intercepted while accompanying the film star. Dmytro Pyshchikov, aged 33, was stopped at a checkpoint while serving as a guide for the actress during her trip to the war-torn nation on November 5. Despite claiming an exemption from military service due to a spinal condition, Pyshchikov has now disclosed that he was directed to undergo military training before deployment to the front lines.

Jolie had been in Ukraine with the Legacy of War Foundation, a UK-based charity founded by photographer Giles Duley, who is a triple amputee. Ukrainian ground forces verified that Pyshchikov was indeed Jolie’s driver during her visit. The statement released emphasized that neither Jolie nor her team interfered with the military or recruitment processes, debunking online rumors.

Following his detention at the Territorial Recruitment Centre, Pyshchikov stated his intention to complete training and serve in the army. Assuring his followers in a video post that he was safe, he clarified that his detainment was unexpected and that he was complying with authorities’ requests.

Ukraine, pressured by Russia’s aggression, is actively recruiting individuals to defend against the ongoing conflict. Pyshchikov expressed frustration at his detention, citing valid documentation and a clean record prior to the incident. Jolie, during her visit, commended the resilience of the local residents facing daily dangers, highlighting their unwavering support for each other amidst the challenging circumstances.

As she departed the country, the Ukrainian border guards expressed gratitude to Jolie for her solidarity with the nation’s struggle for survival, presenting her with national symbols and the emblem of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
