Must read

Allied Pharmacies has stepped in to rescue 60 branches of a competing pharmacy chain facing financial difficulties. The majority of these locations are currently closed, but Allied has affirmed its commitment to restoring essential pharmacy services at these sites.

With this acquisition, Allied’s network now expands to approximately 210 branches throughout England and Wales, as reported by C+D. Recognizing the vital role of community pharmacies in public health, Allied expressed its dedication to promptly resuming pharmaceutical services at the newly acquired branches.

Recent reports highlighted the challenges faced by Jhoots Pharmacies, with concerns raised about closures impacting access to healthcare services in communities. The ownership of these pharmacies is divided between brothers Manjit and Sarbjit Jhooty, with Manjit overseeing over 20 branches and Sarbjit owning the rest.

In response to the situation, Manjit Jhooty’s spokesperson emphasized the operational stability of their pharmacies, ensuring continuous provision of essential services. Meanwhile, Sarbjit Jhooty acknowledged workforce issues and reassured efforts to address them. The Mirror has reached out to Jhoots for further comments.
