“Aircraft Crash Sparks Fireball Near Fort Worth Highway”

Must read

At least two individuals lost their lives when an aircraft crashed into multiple trucks near a highway, causing a massive fireball in Fort Worth, Texas. The victims’ identities have not yet been revealed, and authorities are investigating the incident that occurred around 1:30 pm near Hicks Airfield in an industrial area surrounded by small businesses and residential neighborhoods.

Lois Kinman, a spokesperson for the airfield, confirmed that the aircraft was not based there. Emergency response teams from various agencies, including Tarrant County, Haslet, Lake Worth, Newark, Saginaw, Eagle Mountain, and Fort Worth, were present at the crash site.

The Federal Aviation Administration will lead the investigation, as stated by Robbie Hoy, a public information officer for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. Motorists were urged to avoid the area while emergency crews managed the aftermath, with images showing emergency vehicles blocking off the main road.

The plane involved was a Beechcraft King Air C90, but the number of passengers onboard at the time of the crash remains unclear. Witness accounts, like that of Lauren Anderson, a cashier at an animal feed shop, described a large black smoke cloud and a significant emergency response presence following the incident.

Despite the intense initial response, Anderson noted that the area returned to normalcy once the smoke dissipated, leaving an eerie feeling of what had just transpired. The Mirror US reached out to the Fort Worth Fire Department for further details.
