Elon Musk’s secret baby mother’s bold statement about kids and bizarre sperm offer

Must read

One of Elon Musk’s baby mothers has shed some light on what it’s like to co-parent with the divisive billionaire, with a candid 10-word admission.

In September 2023, it was announced that musician Grimes welcomed a secret third child with her on-off partner Musk – a little boy named Techno Mechanius, or Tau to loved ones. Grimes dated the 53-year-old tech mogul off and on between the years 2018 and 2022, and Tau is the youngest of the three children they welcomed together.

The couple welcomed young X Æ A-Xii – nicknamed X for short – to the world in May 2020, followed by Exa Dark Sideræl, who was conceived with the help of a surrogate in December 2021.

In a 2022 interview with Vanity Fair, Grimes, 36, reflected upon the unique challenges her kids will face growing up with such famous parents. She remarked: “It’s going to be hard for them, in a different way.”

Expanding upon this in a 2023 interview with Wired, Grimes explained: “I think their life is gonna be pretty intense. Being Elon’s kid is not the same as being anyone’s kid. In my house, at least, I want it to be more of a crazy warehouse situation and a cool art space.”

In this same article, electronic music star Grimes touched upon what Musk is like as a family man, describing him as someone who has an “old-world kind of discipline”. Considering what he might have learned from her during their time together, Grimes told the publication: “Maybe to have more fun. I try to soften him up, to build family culture. And he steals a lot of my memes.”

Grimes and Musk’s split initially appeared amicable, however, as previously reported by NBC News their relationship took a frosty turn in 2023 amid a custody battle when the billionaire allegedly refused to let his ex see their children.

Last summer, Grimes’ mother Sandy Garossino, published a series of tweets directed at Musk, claiming that a planned trip for the three children to visit her sick mother had been cancelled, as the entrepreneur had been “withholding them and their needed passport documents”.

Begging Musk to respond, Sandy wrote: “It was nice seeing you on Father’s Day. I hope you got the card that I helped X make. He was so proud of it. I’m writing here as the only way I have to reach you. As you know, my 93-year-old mother is now in end-of-life palliative care. I am alarmed to learn that the children cannot come as you are withholding them and their needed passport documents from Claire.”

The tech mogul did not respond on X to Sandry’s posts, though he was active on the app that day, including after Garossino posted.

Musk, who will be taking up a new role in President-elect Donald Trump’s White House cabinet, has 11 children with three different mothers and has apparently splashed out on a sprawling 14,400-square-foot compound in Texas to accommodate them all.

The New York Times previously reported that Musk has informed those close to him that he intends for his children and and two of their mothers to reside in adjoining properties behind a six-bedroom mansion he helped purchase, as per two sources and public records. The cost of both properties is said to be approximately $35 million (£27.5 million).

Insiders advised the publication that these new properties are located around a 10-minute walk from a third mansion that Musk tends to use as a base while staying in Austin.

Not content with just his own family being so large, Elon has repeatedly urged his fanbase to follow his lead and have lots of kids, often sharing his thoughts on the matter on his social media platform X, previously known as Twitter.

In 2024, Musk tweeted: “I’m doing my best to encourage more people to become parents and ideally have three or more kids, so humanity can grow. The population collapse in most countries is a tragedy. Sales of adult diapers should never exceed sales of baby diapers!”

And it would appear he’s gone much further than encouraging people – having allegedly previously offered out his own sperm at dinner parties.

The New York Times reports that Musk has previously offered his semen to friends – including Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate Nicole Shanahan. According to two sources, Shanahan opted to decline this somewhat unusual offer.

Guests at a dinner party attended by Musk in 2023 told the publication that the SpaceX entrepreneur claimed he could give sperm to “a married couple he had met socially only a handful of times”.

As per The Times, during the meal held by a prominent Silicon Valley tech executive, this couple mentioned that they were experiencing difficulties conceiving, prompting Musk to offer his assistance. At the same get-together, Musk also allegedly “boasted about his many children”.
