A father in Valencia, Spain, allegedly killed his toddler son’s speech therapist by cutting his throat during an appointment after discovering his child without a diaper. The 24-year-old man turned himself in to the police with blood on his hands. He confessed to the authorities that he attacked the 32-year-old victim after leaving his two-year-old son unattended momentarily and finding him without a diaper.
The suspect, identified as David G.S., reportedly assaulted the speech therapist when the latter refused to show him surveillance cameras in the clinic. The altercation escalated, leading the suspect to fatally wound the victim with a knife he already had in his possession. The victim passed away at the center after having his throat slit with a 15cm knife.
Witnesses reported that the suspect threatened the health professional, demanding access to the clinic’s cameras before the violent incident occurred. Following the attack, the suspect drove back home before surrendering to the police and admitting to the crime. Law enforcement officers discovered the victim’s body at the crime scene and initiated forensic investigations.
The body was later removed and taken for an autopsy at the Institute of Legal Medicine in Valencia. It remains uncertain if the suspect will appear before an investigating judge the next day after spending a night in police custody. The suspect is likely to be remanded to a local prison after the court hearing, which will be held privately as is customary in Spain.
