Police are in pursuit of a man connected to a shooting incident three months ago and are warning the public not to approach him as they consider him to be ‘armed and dangerous’. This development coincides with another individual being charged in relation to the death of a police officer during a raid in Toronto, Canada.
Zara Jabbi, aged 19, is being sought in connection with a shooting that took place at the US Consulate in March. Authorities have issued a caution that he is “armed and dangerous”. Law enforcement officers emphasized, “If you spot him, do not approach. Dial 911 immediately.” His photo has been circulated to aid in his apprehension.
As Toronto gears up to host its inaugural FIFA World Cup match, with fans from various countries descending upon cities in Canada, Mexico, and the US, the manhunt for Jabbi is ongoing. The city will host its first World Cup game on Friday, June 12, with Canada facing Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto Stadium.
In light of the tragic loss of Constable Marc Pinizzotto, officers have expressed appreciation to the public. Constable Pinizzotto was fatally shot while on duty on June 11. The incident occurred during the execution of a high-risk search warrant as part of a coordinated operation involving five simultaneous warrants. Another suspect was also shot by police during the operation and is currently hospitalized.
Nicholas Bennett, a 19-year-old from Toronto, is facing a First Degree Murder charge in connection with the death of Constable Pinizzotto. Despite efforts, Jabbi remains at large, as confirmed by the authorities.
Jabbi is being pursued for his involvement in the March incident at the US Consulate. Police stated, “We understand there are numerous inquiries. Due to the ongoing investigation, there are constraints on the information we can disclose presently. We will provide further updates when possible.”
