With the ongoing cost of living challenges in the UK, many Brits are keen on selecting the perfect dining spot for their meals. To ensure value for money, choosing the right restaurant is crucial.
In this context, I recently visited ASK Italian to sample their new spring menu. ASK Italian promises a range of fresh and exciting dishes inspired by the Italian culinary tradition. Notable additions include the Truffle Honey Prosciutto Pizza A Mano and a selection of creative cocktails like the Pepperoni Negroni, Hot Honey Margarita, and Cherry Limoncello Meringue Cocktail.
Diners can also enjoy a special offer of three sides for £12 and a complimentary Spritz of their choice each time they dine in May by simply downloading and signing up for the ASK Perks Rewards App.
During my visit, I opted for the Bruschetta Pizzetta as a starter, featuring stone-baked Wildfarmed dough with pomodoro sauce, slow-roasted tomatoes, baby plum tomatoes, rocket, ricotta salata, and balsamic glaze. The combination was delightful, especially with a touch of chilli oil for an added kick.
While waiting for the starter, we were treated to the Crispy Pepperoni nibbles, which turned out to be surprisingly addictive, leaving me reaching for more.
For the main course, I tried the Pollo Roquito pizza topped with roast chicken breast, Roquito pepper pearls, balsamic red onions, Fior di Latte mozzarella, crispy prosciutto, and rocket. The pizza was well-balanced, with generous toppings and a light, airy dough that showcased quality ingredients.
We also sampled the Sea Bass alla Mediterranea, featuring oven-baked sea bass with slow-roasted tomatoes, black olives, capers, roasted potatoes, mushrooms, and spinach, all drizzled with a buttery white wine sauce. The dish impressed with perfectly cooked sea bass and a harmonious blend of flavors.
Among the side dishes, the Hot Honey Luganica Sausages stood out for their smoked chilli jelly accompaniment, adding a flavorful twist to the meal. The Seasoned Roast Potatoes and Bolognese Bites were also well-received, offering a variety of tastes.
To end the meal on a sweet note, we indulged in the Chocostachio Bomb, a luscious chocolate and pistachio mousse encased in Italian meringue. The dessert was surprisingly light and enjoyable.
The drink selections, including the Hugo Spritz and Hot Honey Margarita Italiana, provided a refreshing accompaniment to the meal, with unique flavor profiles.
Overall, the new menu at ASK Italian offers innovative and fresh options for the spring and summer seasons. The three sides for £12 deal is a highlight, complemented by a diverse range of cocktails and mocktails. ASK Italian’s commitment to quality in their pizza and pasta dishes sets them apart in the competitive Italian food scene.
The attentive service and accommodating staff added to the positive dining experience, making it a place to revisit with friends in the near future.
