Sabastian Sawe made history by setting a new marathon world record at the London Marathon with a remarkable time of 1:59:30, surpassing Kelvin Kiptum’s previous record of 2:00:35. This victory marked Sawe’s second consecutive win at the event, showing a significant improvement from his last year’s time of 2:02:27.
The intense competition in the elite men’s race came down to a close battle between Sawe and Yomif Kejelcha from Ethiopia.
