A Florida woman, who entered into a relationship with her mother’s partner after her mother’s passing due to breast cancer, fatally stabbed him subsequent to their marriage. Danielle Redlick admitted to the killing of her spouse and former stepfather, Michael Redlick, in self-defense on January 11, 2019. Concerns have been raised by her daughter regarding her brother’s safety, expressing apprehension about Danielle’s true nature. Beginning at the age of 22, Danielle initiated a romantic involvement with Michael, then aged 39, citing their bond strengthening following her mother’s demise from an aggressive form of breast cancer.
Michael started frequenting the bar where Danielle was employed after her mother’s death, leading to the progression of their relationship. Despite initially claiming that her husband had suffered a heart attack, Danielle’s narrative of Michael’s demise evolved over time. Although she escaped a second-degree murder conviction, she received probation for evidence tampering related to cleaning the crime scene post the stabbing.
In a plea to prosecutors, Danielle’s adult daughter urged for a no-contact order to shield herself and her brother from their mother’s influence. Allegations of physical abuse were made by Danielle against Michael, while the prosecution highlighted her presence on a dating platform following her husband’s death. Despite her belief that Michael survived the attack, she failed to seek help or provide aid, resulting in his fatal bleeding. Danielle later attempted suicide and reported the incident to emergency services after an 11-hour delay.
During trial, Jadyn portrayed her mother as manipulative and toxic, attributing Danielle as the primary source of negativity in their relationship. Danielle was released in 2022 after receiving credit for time served, with support from ministry volunteers at the local correctional facility.
