“Reform UK’s Advocate Sparks Controversy with Social Media Posts”

Must read

Reform UK’s newly appointed advocate for small businesses in the UK is facing criticism for promoting controversial ideas on social media platforms. Kevin Byrne, who shared a platform with Nigel Farage at a recent party gathering, made statements on Facebook questioning the legitimacy of Covid vaccines and expressing skepticism towards various issues, including Pride events, the Loch Ness Monster, and anti-abortion sentiments.

In one instance, Byrne shared an article about a doctor in Australia who faced consequences for criticizing the Covid vaccine, labeling it as “the crime of the century.” He also raised concerns about Covid vaccine passports, alleging that they are a tool for control rather than for public health.

Byrne’s social media activity also included posts denouncing Covid vaccinations and suggesting extreme measures against those considering it for their children. Additionally, he made controversial remarks about the Pride movement and shared content from an anti-abortion organization.

A representative from the Labour Party condemned Byrne’s views, stating that such dangerous conspiracy theories reflect poorly on Farage’s party. The controversy surrounding Byrne comes shortly after the imprisonment of Nathan Gill, the former leader of Reform UK in Wales, for accepting bribes from a Russian Putin ally. Despite Byrne’s unexpected views, he was recently appointed by Farage to oversee the party’s strategies for small businesses. Byrne, who previously founded Checkatrade and received an OBE in 2023, has yet to comment on the situation.
