“DNA Test Reveals Woman’s False Claim as Missing Madeleine McCann”

Must read

Kate, the mother of Madeleine McCann, caused distress among parents nationwide when she encountered a woman claiming to be her missing daughter. The family of the missing girl is now hopeful that the ordeal is over.

Recently, Julia Wandelt, a Polish national, was convicted of harassing the McCann family but acquitted of stalking them. Wandelt, 24, allegedly lingered near the McCanns’ residence in Leicestershire, surprising Kate and sending letters and making calls to the family.

Despite Wandelt’s claims of being the missing Madeleine, DNA tests have conclusively proven otherwise. Wandelt, who allegedly called Kate multiple times a day, wept uncontrollably in court, insisting on her mistaken identity.

Wandelt’s family expressed embarrassment over her actions, fleeing their home temporarily due to the attention garnered. Wandelt, a singer-songwriter, has found solace in music amidst the turmoil she faces.

Following a lengthy trial, Wandelt was found guilty of harassment but not stalking. The judge noted that Wandelt had been in custody longer than the maximum sentence for her offense.
