“Madeleine McCann Suspect Seeks Funds for Mystery Escape”

Must read

A suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, Christian Brueckner, hinted at potential relocation in a GoFundMe appeal. Brueckner, a convicted rapist, sought financial assistance to depart from Germany, managing to collect €100 before the fundraiser was removed after three hours.

In the brief period the campaign was active, Brueckner detailed his reasons for seeking donations and disclosed his desired destination outside Germany. He expressed a desire for €50 donations to facilitate relocation to a country without an extradition agreement with Germany’s law enforcement, thereby avoiding potential repatriation due to political or economic disputes.

On the fundraising platform, Brueckner emphasized his legal opportunity to depart Germany and escape the constant scrutiny and suspicions he faced. He highlighted the need for financial support to secure accommodation and evade detection by German authorities.

Although Brueckner’s exact relocation plans remain undisclosed, his attorney suggested Suriname in South America as a potential destination lacking extradition treaties with the UK or Germany. Brueckner previously served time for raping an elderly woman in Portugal’s Algarve region, where Madeleine disappeared.

Despite wearing an electronic monitoring device for the next five years, Brueckner could evade surveillance in a non-European Union nation, rendering the ankle tag ineffective. His lawyer recommended seeking a country with no extradition agreements, such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, or Vietnam, to live without the threat of legal consequences. Countries like the Maldives and Montenegro, as well as Indonesia and Morocco, also lack extradition treaties with Germany but do not guarantee Brueckner’s final relocation choice.
